- Compliance/performance audits, and due-diligence studies<br />

- In addition to the technical issues, the successful candidate will be expected to assist in client relationships and work in a team environment.<br />

This role requires international experience working with exploration and mining projects.  Previous experience managing a mining project from advanced stage exploration through to construction and operations will be preferable. <br />
<br />
The candidate will benefit from having experience working with biodiversity and water impacts on other projects.  Previous experience in the management of the environmental and social departments of an international mining operation are vital and candidates should be able to identify risks and manage the mitigation of these risks with a staffing plan to address the on-going implementation of an established Environmental Social Impact Assessment.  Experience with IFC Performance Standards, as well as other international environmental benchmarks is preferred. <br />

The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader with the energy to undertake this very demanding role.  A tertiary qualification is a requirement but this is not discipline specific.  Other personal characteristics of the successful applicant will include possession of a calm and flexible leadership style and good organisational skills, stemming from a mine management background.  The COO will have African or developing world experience, and strong communication and cultural skills in order to deal with multiple nationalities. • The recommendation and implementation of procedures for future data generation, acquisition, digitalization, validation, treatment, storage and the setup and maintenance of a central database that is to be kept updated and duplicated at the  head office.<br />
